As we approach our beloved Hallowe\'en holiday, we are HAUNTINGly happy topresent one of Ziz’s all-time favorite designs: an authentic, iconic, pressedpulp black cat lantern that was made in America sometime during the 1940s tothe 1950s! We absolutely love this kitty!This design was made in two color variants: the orange cat with black whiskersand this one, which is black with hand-painted orange whiskers. Please meet Clemmet! He is in SPOOKtacular condition for his age and shows heshows VERY little wear. He retains his original paint that is in outstandingcondition and has his original wire bail handle as well. He does have a very nice but replaced insert creating his PURRRfectly wonderful kitty cat features. This quality-made insert is securely placed but not attached – so that it could be removed ifdesired. It looks a lot like an old insert but it will not fade and we do love how well it helps to create Clem\'s GHOULish glow. Clem has a WICKEDly wonderful expression which is somewhere between HAUNTING and happy! He measures 5 ¼” tall (8 ½” to the top of his handle) x 6” wide x 5”deep. Pulp lanterns such as Clem were often lit using real wax candles. GASP! However, Clemshows absolutely NO sign of being used in this way. For his debut, weilluminated him using a battery-operated candle now found in most craft stores. Dear Clemmet is an example of enchanting Hallowe\'en classic imagery at its very finest! His superb condition betrayshis mid-century age and the many All Hallows\' Eves he hasseen. His exact condition is as follows:

We see absolutely NO touch-ups to his original paint. There are a few small paint rubs commensurate with his age. The holes placed for his original wire handleshow absolutely NO wear. There is NO melted wax and there are NO burn marks inhis interior. Each one of these kitties has his or her own distinctive expression andappeal.
