Vintage Harry Holub of Tustin, Wisconsin drake canvasback duck decoy. This decoy is from the Dennis Edwards estate collection and is one of the decoys Dennis bought on one of his buying trips many years ago. Dennis and Shirley Edwards were one of the first serious decoy collectors in Wisconsin. Dennis made many trips to the famed Lake Poygan, Fox and Wolf River areas where Joe Gigl, Harry Holub, Gus Moak made and hunted with their decoys. This Holub decoy is in good condition, and it has the characteristic head, base board, \"hump back\" style, wing pattern, and hollow body of Harry Holub. There is a lead weight on the bottom, and also the stamped HH for Harry Holub, and JHB, for the great duck hunter in those early days named John Boyson. It is very interesting to note how many of the decoy makers from that area made decoys that resemble each other.....especially the resemblances to the Gus Moak style.
