VINTAGE HOME MADE CRYSTAL RADIO FOR PARTS OR REPAIR
Up for sale is this vintage home made crystal radio.
While most of the components are obviously from the 20\'s, the one variable capacitor (not the remler) appears to have been substituted in at some later point and is not from the 1920\'s.
The Remler \"butterfly\" variable geared capacitor is in very good condition, the gears move smoothly throughout it\'s range. It is No 631 and the value stamped on it is .0005 MFD.
There is a Howard Radio Co .002 MF round capacitor mounted on the back of the front panel.
The cat whisker crystal detector appears to have a bent and or partially broken off \"whisker\". It\'s adjusting knob has a nice unique look.
Note that some of the coil wires are not connected in the back of the unit.
This crystal radio could be used for it\'s nice set of vintage parts or by replacing the one capacitor with one from the correct era, it could be readily rebuilt and the wiring straightened out.
