Filing Cabinet.

This is a lovely 6 drawerindex card filing cabinet, it is in"as found" condition and has not been repaired or restored by us.

The cabinetis made from solid oak and has a super depth of colour and patina, the cabinet is solidly made and is consequently, heavy

. The cabinet was not designed to be a "quality" piece of furniture, but waspractical and to be used. Hence, there are marks, scratches, stainsand chips tothe body and drawers of the cabinet, as you can see from the pictures.

The fittings are in copper plate, some of which has worn away and the base metal is showing through in places. The two handles on the sides are replacements, however, they are sturdy and well attached.

The cabinet has a locking mechanism which runs along the back of the drawers, this has a lock, unfortunately, the remains of the original key is still in the lock.

The drawers run well, and are well made and solid and are constructed with finger joints.Some of the drawers still have their original painted metal internal stops.

This is a fabulous piece of industrial furniture and itshows wonderful signs of age and use and is looking to continue itsworking life as a true vintage storage piece.

It is also a good size to make an interesting "coffee" table.

Please note as this was designed for index cards if you do want to use for different storage you may need to put something into the bottom of the drawers to prevent items falling through the gap! Just thought I\'d mention it for clarity!

It measures 30 cm (12 inches) high. It is 59 cm (23 1/4 inches) long and is 39 cm (15 1/4 inches) wide.

The drawers internal measurements are 35 cm (13 3/4 inches) long. They are 15.5 cm (6 1/4 inches) wide and 8.5 cm (3 1/2 inches)deep.
