I have had this bit for awhile and I know it is one of the early bits made by Jeremiah Watt, but I don\'t know how early it is. This has been an excellent colt bit, and in the past few years my daughter has used it on her pony hunter LOL. It is sweet iron with copper inlaid on the bars. Egg butt rings, it has a great feel and nice weight. Very smooth bit, no pinching. The right ring is stamped JWP, with the letters individually stamped not the block single stamp they are using now. The J is not so clear but the rest is. The mouth measures 4.5\", great for colts. That is the only reason for selling this bit, if it had a 5\" mouth I would be keeping it.
