Simply one of the finest examples of the famous Marantz 8B\'s that you will ever find. From the house and collection of the original owner, this amp was hardly ever touched and yet it was played now then to keep the original components fresh and formed which is very important with electronics with this history. The sound is as good as it gets and many of you know that this is perhaps the best of the vintage stereo tube amp ever made. They did it right and when you see the construction and hear this super clean sound, you understand why it is so sought after. The output tubes are also wonderful sounding and in excellent condition. You turn the bias knob and the meter shows that they are perfectly biased. Most often, this is not the case because the bias capacitors are old and have not been serviced or the tubes are unmatched and week. In the case, the bias capacitors were professionally replaced so that this function is operating perfectly and the tubes are matched pairs that run as even as it can get, thus providing the ultimate in sound. The bias caps were the only thing upgraded on this circuit which you can clearly see in the detailed photo of the bottom and all the other capacitors are the ones which are so sought after for the original sound. This is an unbelievably clean unit on the inside as it is on the outside and properly cared for, it will remain one of the best out there for many, many years. If this is your first 8B, you are in for a real treat as the audio quality this produces is just one of the very finest, with super detailed highs, a wonderful midrange and some of the best and clean bass that you will ever experience. The tubes are vintage Amperex, made in Holland and a perfect match for this amp. They are the same sought after Amperex Double \"D\" getter design even though one pair is privately labeled Rogers of Canada.
