Up for your consideration is one of the last Mitchell Match reels that were made before becoming the sky blue 440A
Serial number clearly shows it beginning with the digit \"G\" which would date the reel from 1977.
In a used but great working order these Iconic reels have stood the test of time, this one is no exception.
You could spool it up with line and head of down your favorite Chub peg and enjoy old times waggler fishing the far bank
It would be just like when these reels first came out in 1969, every other angler had one who was fishing the Match scene.
Originally the reel was the Mitchell 440 from mid 1963 but in 1967 when Barrie Welham opened up Garcia Mitchell in
Southampton he took this reel and made it the Mitchell Match, even changing the engraving from 440 to Match sent sales through the roof
For this super reel, Shallow spool followed and some changes inside the reel and the Match was born
even World Champions fished with it such was its greatness and still 50 years on still you hear that wonderful sound
Of the bail being opened and closed as a cast is made across the river.
OK reminiscingover the reel works fine and the box is very good, also has the paperwork with it too
