Up for sale is a vintage mid century leather Omersa Dachshund ottoman made for Abercrombie & Fitch about 1950s early 60s. Made in England. The dogs seem very hard to find. In fact checking online I haven't seen any vintage ones come up. He measures about 27" not including the tail. With the tail over 30" Stands about 17" tall to the top of his head. His tail will need to be stitched underneath, it has come apart at the seam. He has a little leather wear under his feet and a little at the top of his left ear. I took good pictures so you can get a idea of his overall condition. I think he's in nice condition for his age.
Please ask me any questions before offerding.

After a closer look to this Dog I noticed it doesn't have a Abercrombie mark but a Almazan Spain mark. A couple of you wrote me on this and drew this to my attention. I knew it still had to be a Omersa, so I wrote Omersa to find out what the story is with this. This is my email to them and their reply. These are actually much harder to find.
Subject:Â Almazan Mark on Omersa dog
I recently bought a old Leather Dachshund from a estate sale. It has all the looks of a Omersa but it has a Spain mark Almazan. Wanted to know what the story is with this mark. I will attach a couple pictures. Was Almazan a store in Spain or a maker?
Any info would be appreciated.

Thank you for your e mail.
The simple answer to your question is that YES there was a manufacturer in Spain. I found this out a few years ago but managed to lose the name of the manufacturer so thanks for this info!
Our new dachshund dog is based on a picture seen some years ago in a magazine (Spanish) – just the same as your dog. I also came across someone who used to buy the Spanish manufactured product in Cyprus!!! But there the story ends as they are no longer in existence and I have not been able to find any historical info on the manufacturer. I will re start looking now I have the name again. The big question is who came first – Omersa or the Spanish!?
