THIS TIN AND PRESSED STEEL TOY GAS STATION WAS MADE BY THE MARX TOY COMPANY, 1935.
NEEDS TO BE WIRED. THIS IS AN EASY JOB. IT TAKES 1 D-SIZE BATTERY BEHIND THE BUILDING TO MAKE THE GAS GLOBES LIGHT UP. THE LIGHT ALSO WORKS UNDERNEATH THE CAR LIFT, WHEN THE LIFT IS IN A RAISED POSITION. PUMPS WILL NEED RE-WIRING AND THOUGH GLOBES ARE THERE, NEEDS THE TWO SOCKETS.
THE FINISH IS ALL ORIGINAL AND HAS A LITTLE WEAR AND SCRATCHES, BUT THIS IS ONE OF THE NICEST ORIGINAL EXAMPLES I HAVE SEEN. NO TOUCH UPS OR REPAIRS.

SYNOPSIS: This prewar 1935 Marx Roadside Service Station also known as the "Laurel and Hardy" Service Station is in excellent original condition. The station base measures 13 1/2" wide x 10" deep x 5" high. The original paint and lithography are in excellent condition with only minor paint chipping as can be seen in the photos. The gas pump bulbs are replacements. This is a great opportunity to own one of Marx's greatest automotive playsets, that is rarely seen in such beautiful condition!!
