Drop forged at a Four Star Elephant Sabatierfactory in Thiers France from Carbon Steel. This piece is a real find. It waslocated in a warehouse owned by a gentleman who was one of the last majorinvestors in the Sabatier factory. When I showed interest in them he told methat they were forged at the turn of the century. Nobody knows exactly how oldthey truly are but my guess would be somewhere in the 20s to the 50s.
The blade measures 4 X 0.75 inches and is not marked. The overall length of this knife blank is 8 3/4 inches. Total weight is 1 1/4 oz.
The blade is straight with a Nogent (Rat Tail) tang. This blank is virgin forged and has not been ground or worked in any way. Please Note: The knife blank in the picture is a fair representation but not the exact knife blank you will be receiving.
