The lids or heads are tightly fitted, push down tightly at the collar, attaching to the bodies. The hat and scarf are hinged so that they come off the heads to reveal 3 holes for the salt and pepper.The rooster is 2 3/8 inches tall, and the hen is just over 2 inches high. They weigh 42 grams, and have a very substantial look and feel, NOT fragile or thin. They are in excellent estate condition, no dents, dings, issues. Really unusual and fun pieces.
