It is all tin except for the 3 red plastic light covers, spaceman on top, clear windscreen and pilot\'s head.The tinplate is in lovely condition, the windscreenIs clear and the battery compartment is clean and free from rust. The toy works well exceptfor the “space sound” which is not there.It measures 9 inches (228mm) long by 4.5 inches(114mm) wide (at widest point) and 7 inches(178mm) tall including the spaceman. It is marked “Trade Mark Modern Toys M-T Made in Japan” on the rear of the body, just above the battery door.Comes with a very good original box, also fully marked on the lid which has a great space scene.A classic battery Japanese space toy that is hard to findand a great addition to a space or battery toy collection.Please see my other vintage toys I have listed. Vintage Tinplate Battery Operated Non-Fall Moon Rocket,
Modern Toys, Japan. EXiB
A nice vintage tinplate battery operated Non-Fall Moon
Rocket space ship toy, with blue and pink body, red
and silver fins, orange and yellow top wing with rocket
image, yellow side light panels with 3 coloured lights,
tinplate pilot and silver astronaut with blue periscope
sitting on top of the spacecraft, made in Japan by the
Modern Toys (M-T) Company in the 1960’s.
The toy is in excellent condition with minor playwear
and, when switched on, moves around with a mystery
