This sale is for a hand appliqued flower garden quilt. The individual squares measure approximately 12 inches square, and in each square are six flower patches that form a larger flower with a yellow center. The flowers are constructed from tiny, old, pretty prints that could be feed-sack cottons. Most of the old prints are tiny floral designs. The patches are hand appliqued with embroidered stems. These patches are stitched together with strips in a soft pastel green that matches the leaves in the quilted squares. The piecing of the quilt squares and the strips is constructed with machine stitching. The back of the quilt is white, and it feels like cotton sheeting. The backing is loosely quilted with long running stitches. The entire quilt has an embroidered edge. This quilt measures 88 inches wide and 88 inches long. We have pictured this quilt on our high queen-sized bed, and it fits beautifully.
