Vintage bamboo fly fishing rod with fabric sock and aluminum tube. Two piece rod with an extra tip--total of 3 pieces. From the estate of a collector.This rod has No Markings on it-- there is light wear to the metal end of the reel seat, but the cork, guides and wraps all look relatively unused-- we wonder if it was refinished and the markings lost??It came in the fabric sock with the Gene Edwards label on it, in the aluminum tube with the former owner's handwritten masking tape label identifying it as a Gene Edwards Rod, as shown in the photos.
No loose or missing guides or ferrules. The extra tip is broken on the bamboo shaft. Aluminum tube has wear, scratches, masking tape labels. The sock with Gene Edwards label is good, used- no holes.
Our consignor bought a number of rods from the estate of a collector. We don't know if the sock and/or tube is original to the rod- it came to us just as you see it.
