Waterman Emblem Pen, 1940s. Black celluloid with gold filled trim.
The Emblem was identical to the Hundred Year Pen, and succeeded it when the FTC banned the pen companies\' long-term guarantees. This is the largest model the oversized \'Supersize.\' It\'s big and fat, and uses Waterman\'s huge 18-size nib, the same size nib used in the Patrician.
This is an excellent example, very crisp with few signs of use. The nib is fine (maybe fine to medium), and quite flexible, capable of downstrokes of about 1.7mm when pressure is added. It\'s not overly soft, so can be used with no shading if you\'re careful. As such, it\'s great for everyday use too. See the writing samples.

The writing samples are made using the pen itself, dipped in Waterman Intense Black black. The paper is a Rhodia pad with 5mm squares.
