WATERMAN 32 1930s, EXCELLENT WITH STICKER, EXTRA FLEX NIB, RESTORED

DRAMATIC FLEX, DOWNSTROKES OVER 3mm, GREAT PEN

Waterman 32 fountain pen, 1930s, in black celluloid with chrome trim. Waterman No. 2 nib.

This pen is the successor of Waterman\'s workhorse 52, a full size pen with a number 2 nib, designed to appeal to students and mid-level buyers. Where the 52 was hard rubber and a flattop, this is celluloid and slightly streamlined.

The 32 had to have a nib to suit every hand, and this one is fine to medium and very flexible. It give decent hairlines and very wide downstrokes with pressure. These downstrokes get to 3mm and could probably be wider. See the writing samples. The contrast between thick and thin is quite dramatic, and the pen is good for any sort of pointed pen calligraphy such as copperplate and spencerian. It\'s not quite soft enough to be considered a wet noodle in my opinion, and is good for everyday use if you don\'t mind a little shading.

All in all, it\'s a great example of a vintage fountain pen of the golden era, a well made utility writing instrument from a time when flexible nibs were taken for granted.

Excellent condition with no chips or cracks, strong imprint, some trim wear, and the original price sticker still present on the end of the barrel.

Restored and working with a new sac installed. Length is about 5inches.
