WATERMAN 32 c1930s, FINE EXTRA-FLEXIBLE CALLIGRAPHY NIB, RESTORED

Waterman 32, probably late \'20s or early \'30s, in black celluloid with chrome trim. This was the plastic successor to Waterman\'s famous 1920s workhorse, the 52.

The Waterman #2 nib is fine and extra flexible. It will make decent hairlines with no pressure, and with pressure it makes very wide swells. So it\'s perfect for pointed-pen calligraphy styles like copperplate and spencerian.See the writing samples.

It takes some pressure, not a lot, to get the tines to separate, and it\'s possible with some concentration to write without shading, so I wouldn\'t quite call it a \'wet noodle,\' but it\'s close.

The pen itself is in good condition with no chips or cracks, but it has lots of deep nicks and scratches, and some wear to the trim. The imprint is quite clear, as is the model number on the end of the barrel.

Lever filler, restored and working with a new sac installed. Length is about5 inches.

The writing samples are made using the pen itself, dipped inParker Quink blackink. The paper is a Rhodia pad with 5mm squares.
