Price: US $9.99

This photo is an excellent high quality new 8” x 10” black & white glossy photo reproduction of a early 1950’s KENWORTH Conventional with Sleeper Box pulling a FRUEHAUF Stainless Steel Semi-Trailer operated by the Western Division of WATSON BROS. TRANSPORTATION of Omaha, NE.

”SAMPLE” will not appear on your photo, it is only on the scanned image.

DESCRIPTION: This Kenworth conventional is a pre-1953 with “Kenworth” nameplate still in the center of the hood side ... could be anywhere from the late 1940s to early 1950s. Does anyone out there know when West Coast Mirrors were first used? In addition to its sleeper box, this KW has road sanders mounted in front of the drive tires. This photo has a white border on all 4 sides.

HISTORY OF WATSON BROS. TRANSPORTATION CO., INC.: The famous Watson Brothers Transportation was founded in 1926 by the three teen-aged Watson brothers with one truck running between Auburn and Omaha. In the 1930s & 40s the company expanded and finally reached the west coast. Always an innovator in the trucking industry, by 1952 the Watson Bros. had more than 2100 units. In 1960 the Watson family sold the company, and in 1962 it merged with Wilson Truck Co. of Nashville, becoming Watson-Wilson. Sold twice in 1964, the company was again sold in 1965 becoming part of the Yellow Freight System.
