This is a Vintage Weller Glendale Flower Holder/Wall Pocket. It is 7 1/4 inches tall and features an embossed hand painted mother bird standing on a branch, containing flowers and leaves, beside her nest containing four blue eggs. The vase has 7 holes for flowers in the body and a bud vase at each end in the form of a tree. It appears that the holder was also intended to be a wall pocket as it has a hole in the center top for hanging. I believe the piece is quite rare. It is not marked, except for an ink mark on the bottom, but I have seen one other example, identified as Weller Glendale, which was sold in the American Art Pottery sale in Kansas City in November 2013. The piece was manufactured by the Weller Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio during the 1920s. The pocket has crazing and a small chip-like indentation on the right base edge that was in the making and was glazed over which is hardly visible as the pocket sits, pictured in #5. The piece is in otherwise very good condition and I can find no chips or cracks. The decoration is bright and sharp and the condition is quite good considering the piece is almost 100 years old.
