Thanks for looking in on this fixed blade knife sale! You are viewing very nice older WESTERN Boulder, Colo. USA 648 hunting/skinning knife.
This quality American manufactured knife features a \"jigged bone/stag pattern\" handle that is secured with two brass rivets.
The production date of this beautiful Western knife is in 1970s according to the factory finger guard and blade stamping.
Also, a companion Western leather sheath is included and securely fits the knife.
This desirable Western USA 648 knife would be great for hunting game, carrying, or collecting.
Remember, “back in their day” these older knives were mostly purchased to be used…Not collected, making this great condition even more difficult to find.

BLADE:
The Western USA steel blade appears full but there are a few light short surface marks and some signs of resharpening. Because of the reflective steel blade, it was difficult to get a photo of the faint resharpening. The old mirror-like blade has tiny overall mild surface pitting, but is smooth to the touch, and is straight with a pointed tip. The fixed-blade small Bowie has no blade edge nicks, and features 2\" long blood grooves.

HANDLE:
The handsome split-tang handle is tight with NO looseness. The beautiful \"jigged bone pattern stag handle\" captures the look and feel of a real stag . These handle slabs are secured with two brass pins.
This Western hunting knife features a metal pommel, and tight brass finger guard that measures approx. 1 3/16\" long. The solid handle has No chips or cracks and is in great shape for its age. There are a few short surface scratches and tiny dings on the aluminum pommel. The secure black, red, and off white spacers at both ends of the handle add to this knife\'s unique character.

This USA Western knife feels well balanced and heavy for it\'s size, when held in your hand.
SHEATH:
A vintage leather sheath is also included and secures the knife very well. The nice old WESTERN sheath has a belt loop, working snap strap, intact stitching, and 2 secure metal rivets. The old sheath is in good condition for its 40+ year old age, but shows normal wear with some surface scuffs, wrinkles, and a slit that is a 1/4\" long near the tip area. There is also a 1/4\" long cut at the stiff throat area, but does not prevent the knife from fitting snug inside.

The old knife has a lot of character and vintage appeal....with that slight \"patina of time\" appearance not yet achieved with newer knives.
