Willard Jr banjo clock / patent timepiece
Price: US $721.00
I believe this clock to be an aaron willard jr timepiece from around 1818....clock is numbered on the dial, and also signed - i tried to take closeup pics of the faint signature, but i believe to be able to make out willard jr boston....Paul Foley indicates aaron jr started numbering his timepieces after 1815, starting with no 1600. He also mentions that aaron jr continued using through bolt mounting even after switching from t bridge to single bridge (one of the filister head bolts survives here)....mvmt measures 3 11/16\" x 2 11/16\". Another jr trait was the `witness\' mark on a corner of the minute hand, and on the canon pipe, as in this example. Dial measures 7 7/8\" diameter. case measures 9 7/8\" wide box, 29 1/2\" bottom to top of pediment, without finial. (3 1/2\" finial). # 743 stamped in head, and also inside throat and door frame. no extra holes to secure dial 3 bent turns and 3 tabs inside bezel. Left side arm missing 2 diamond pieces. I have many other pics i could send to serious buyers. throat glass original and untouched - lower glass recently painted by lee davis, and i have secured it in place with wood tabs with a few drops of elmers white glue.Clock runs well, once it is put in beat on the wall (i have a short video of it running). Clock weight shipped separate, will ship usps priority mail, only to USA address, to USA citizen.NO exceptions.PLEASE ask any questions if you are unsure of what you are offerding on, not after sale end.

i just had a request for more pics of the bottom board, as there are missing lower glue blocks, and board may be a later replacement - it is old mahogany, but is possibly not original - i will send pics to anyone who sends me a request.
