A lot of people were asking about the cuckoo portion of this clock....This is the best answer I have in regards to it.
I only saw one other clock like this, but it wasn\'t the same one. In the description it stated there was a non-moving bird that didn\'t do anything.

This one does not have any sort of mechanics in that hole. It looks empty, with nothing that looks broken. If anything did go there it was loose fitting. Everything works, the hands and the noises, but that space is empty, but looks in mint condition.
