Well loved for many generations in the same New England family, and up for sale without a reserve, is this great Vintage Teddy Bear. I do not know the maker and hopefully somebody will be able to identify it. Very cute and dating from the first quarter of the 20th century. It does have issues and I will try to describe it as best as I can. I am not a Teddy Bear collector so feel free to contact me with any questions. It stands only 11\" tall and has what appears to be dark blond mohair. It is stuffed with fine wood shavings, wood wool perhaps? It has an elongated snout, dark button eyes, round ears that stand up and fully jointed limbs. The foot and paw pads are old (dry) hand stitched leather pads. The mohair is worn in places, particularly around the snout and back side, one ear starting to separate from the head, small tears on both legs and one arm. There is also nose stitching loss.
