WORLD WAR II UNIT HISTORY BOOK - MOUNT UP 17TH ARMORED INFANTRY BATTALION CO. C
Price: US $104.49
See the images. I recently acquired a nice collection of WWI to Vietnam era regimental histories that I\'ll be listing on this week.
This sale is for a book titled, \"MOUNT UP! THE HISTORY OF COMPANY C, 17TH ARMORED INFANTRY DIVISION, 12TH ARMORED DIVISION\".Controvich # 4820 and Dorbusch # 288.Printed by W.A. Stierlin Aalen/Wuertt, Germany, undated but early post-war, 8\" x 12\" 4to, 77pages.
A beautifully illustrated history of the unit, which arrived at Le Havre, France, November, 1944 and fought it\'s way across Europe and into Germany. The 12th Armored Division earned the nickname the Hellcat Division for their aggressive advance across southern Germany. Illustrations by Saller accompany the detailed narrative which includes casualty lists, chronology and a full roster of the company with home addresses. As the cover illustrations suggests, this unit was in half track vehicles. This company saw a lot of combat, suffering 41 killed in action, 119 wounded and fifteen missing or POWs. That is a lot for one company.Condition generally EX with edge and corner bumps to cover, back cover rubbed with removal of a former price sticker, soft corner bump top right that continues throughout the title, binding tight and holding well. This is a rare company level ETO history. !!! $5.00 shipping to help with priority postage, please.
