Price: GB $1996.11

This piece is relisted. I ended the original listing because I was somewhat anxious about the level of offerding, given that this is a genuine piece. Thank you to all who viewed and were watching the listing, and especially those that have since been in contact. I apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding and patience. I have relisted but with a reserve.

A WW1 Pritchard-Greener bayonetmanufactured for the Webley revolver. This rarer bayonet remains in excellent condition andwould I feel enhance any collection that a buyer was looking to add to. I hopethe description is adequate, should you require any further information and/orpictures please just let me know.

The bayonet measures 13" long, with a T-section (ex-Gras) blade of 8 1/4". The hilt and crosspiece are both in good conditionthough there is evidence of age with dulled appearance. The crosspiece is engraved with the patent date No 17143/16 on the opposite side is the Greener elephant trademark. The quillion is stamped with the number 81. The locking latch lies on the reverse side and has a finely hatching to the release button. The blade is retained in the grip bya nut.The blade is in good clean condition and retains a bright finish. A fingernail runalong the blades edge reveals no damage;indeed there is no apparent sharpening with the edge retaining the factoryfinish.

The blued steel scabbard is good, though there are losses to the finish where some superficial rusting has occurred. The ball of the scabbard is stamped though difficult to discern. The leather frog is a single stitched piece of leather and remains supple, and is complete with stitched loop at the rear, and a leather loop and press stud. Entry and exit to the scabbard is both smooth and secure.

A genuine and authentic item that may interest collectors and enthusiasts alike. Postage to the United States/Australia is likely to be $35 to allow for tracking and signature, while postage to Europe will be $25.
