WW1 OFFICER\'S Silver TRENCH WATCH.Half Hunter Case c1917
Price: GB $256.48
Discovered at the back of a drawer stored safely inside a native american beadwork bag, which will be listed seperately, I am told that this silver, half hunter wristwatch dates from WW1 by a relative of it\'s previous owner.
My knowledge of wristwatches is minimal but I am certain that this is a very early example and there are silver marks within the case, stamped 925 with other import? marks (photographed to the best of my ability).
The watch measures 35mm in diameter excluding the lugs and crown. Despite being stored for many years, once wound it runs well and keeps good time (accurate to within 2 mins in 24hrs). The cover is released by a button at the base of the watch and reveals an unblemished dial with a subsidiary second hand dial.
I guess my photos describe this better than my words but I will be happy to answer any questions I am able to. I have not attempted to access the movement, as I would be horrified to damage a watch that has survived in working order for around 100 years.
No knowledge so , seems a fair maxim and at less than £1 start this will likely prove a great bargain for those with greater knowledge than my own !
Strange that this was found in a North American leather beaded bag but it has certainly protected it well.
Be sure to take a look at the good quality clocks from the same property, which are listed seperately.

After several requests from the 80+ people watching this, I have plucked up the courage and opened the back, which is hinged. This movement appears very clean and is stamped \" Swiss Made\", a photo has been added and I hope that this is helpful, should you decide to offer !

Silver hallmarks inside case confirm that this was imported by AGR although these were an employee\'s initials rather than those of the company he represented and the date letter \"b\" indicates that this may date from 1915 rather than 1917,
