This is a very rare find. This jacket belonged to Major General Edward Postell King Jr. During WW2. King was MacArthurs second highest ranking officer after Wainright.
King was in charge of the defense of the Phillippine-American forces on Bataan after Mac
Left for Australia. King fought a long and desprite battle against the Japanese until his supplies were exhausted. With no help coming, he made the tough decision to surrender, against his superiors orders. He and everyone under his command suffered horrible atrocities by the Japanese during the Bataan death march.The jacket is in remarkable condition. Does have a few wear spots and very small holes, see photo\'s. Zipper is in good condition. All buttons are intact. The jacket is made by Bancroft, and was very popular with Army Air Corp and paratrooper officers. It comes from a clean no smoke home.
