Original WW2 A-2 flight jacket artwork.Aircraft name ‘Heavenly Body’, Vargas type female figure surrounded by fallingbombs, above ‘New Jersey Phil’ and ’93 B.G.’ The 93rd BG were an 8thAAF unit flying Liberators, and during 1944 participated in raids on Cherbourgduring D-Day, and on St-Lo during the Normandy invasion bridghead. Later in1944 the unit participated in support action in Operation Market Garden, andthe Bulge. The aircraft name probably references the 1944 film starring HedyLamarr. Also included is a fragment of sleeve leather, with hand-painted 8thAAF insignia.

Overall condition is fair, and the itemsare in relic condition. There is flaking to the leather, and overall theartwork is quite faded, worn and flaking, with much of the definition havingbeen lost over time and through wear.
