This is a guaranteed original WW2 hand-drawn map of the coast of France to the south of the Normandy invasion beaches. This map was drawn up by a member of the French Resistance who would have risked their life to draw it and keep it safe because it shows the location of German guns and troops as well as the terrain of the beaches. It is one of a kind and shows how the French Resistance gathered and tried to provide information that would give the Allies an edge in the coming battle!
The allied planners took some time to determine the best location for D-Day to happen so there was consideration given to multiple sites and maps like this would have allowed them to understand what awaited them on-shore!
