An original WW2 R.A.F. British Aircraft recognition manual,\'Air Publication 1480A\', \'Part 2, Sections E to J\', printed by H.MS.O. for the Air Ministry in June 1944. Published around the time of the D-Day Landings and the allied invasion of Europe, the book is a very useful guide to the planes flown by the RAF during the war. This manual was a practical guide intended to aid aircrew, ground crew and pilots in identifying RAF aircraft. Similar publications were produced covering other air forces, including German, Italian and American aircraft.Themanual includes silhouettes, drawings andplansof many of the RAF aircraft operational at the time, with sections on single engined biplanes, multi engined biplanes, flying boats, seaplanes, gliders, experimental types, autogiros and helicopters.Many well-known aircraft are included: such asthe Gladiator, Hawker Hart, Swordfish, Tiger Moth, Catalina, Sunderland, Walrus, and the Horsa Glider (used at Arnhem and D-Day). Other lesswell known types are also featured, like the Bristol Experimental, the Heston Experimental, and the Pitcairn Autogiro. There is also a section of coloured plates showing the aircraft markings of the allied, foreign, and enemy powers.Condition:
In good condition. The boards are in good condition, with some marks and general signs of use. The pages are securely held in place by the original laced binding.The text and illustrations are in good condition with a few minor marks.
