Up for sale is a Hyper RARE map overlay produced in the Summer of 1944 - July 5, 1944 to be exact, by the 101st Airborne Division Headquarters to show where each chalk number (stick) was dropped on D-Day.
Separate maps were made for each battalion of each regiment, plus one for the 377th PFAB, plus a giant poster (the map offered in this sale showing all the landings color coded by unit the single large map.
These maps are extremely rare and few are known to exist. This item was present overseas, in the hands of those who led the 101st Airborne into Normandy and were present afterwards to debrief the results of the drops on D Day.
