This sale is for a 1940\'s World War II U.S. combat fighting knife weapon with the original leather sheath, marked on the knife: CASE XX - This is known as a G.I. V-44 fighting knife and was one of the best knives sought after by soldiers. It has a hard plastic synthetic handle and a very sharp carbon steel blade showing a natural light gray patina. Overall it is in very good+ with no rust or pitting, showing some very light sharpening marks and there is a tight hairline in the handle but it is still very solid. The sheath shows some storage wear with a little hole at the tip but overall it is in very good condition also. Please zoom in on all pictures for details. The knife measures 14 1/8\" with a 9 3/8\" blade and in the sheath weighs 1 lb. 5 oz.
