This photo is an excellent high quality new 8” x 10” b&w glossy photo reproduction of a Late 1950’s KENWORTH CBE (CAB-BESIDE-ENGINE) Tractor fleet #2435 and 35’ Semi-Trailer fleet #3912 operated by YELLOW TRANSIT FREIGHT LINES, INC., Indianapolis, IN.

”SAMPLE” will not appear on your photo, it is only on the scanned image.

DESCRIPTION: In 1955 Yellow Transit Freight Lines, Inc. of Kansas City, MO, purchased 200 new Cab-Beside-Engine Kenworths. The initial order of 200 were powered with 175-hp turbo-supercharged diesel engines, the lightweight JT-6 Cummins, with 5-speed Fuller transmissions. These short BBC KW’s could pull 35’ trailers in 45’ states. I have an October 1955 ad showing one of these KW CBE’s, numbered #2001. The KW in this photo is #2435, probably from an additional order after 1955. This photo has a white border on all 4 sides.

YELLOW TRANSIT: Founded in 1924 in Oklahoma City, eventually moving to Kansas City. In 1955, Yellow only ran routes in 8 midwestern states. Over the years, Yellow continued to expand by acquisition, renamed Yellow Freight System in 1968 and Yellow Corporation in 1993. In 2003 Yellow acquired competitor Roadway Express, more than doubling their size, and in 2012 became YRC Inc. with their largest operating company becoming YRC Freight ... one of the largest transportation service companies in the world, now headquartered in Overland Park, KS.

Now that I have begun to sell on after a few years off, I will be adding a number of vintage truck and construction equipment photos/ads, listing an additional item or two almost daily. I still have several file boxes and shelves full of items to sell. Please check my sales and store frequently to see what new items I have added.

Please check the comments in my “responses” to verify that I pack very well, ship promptly, describe my items fairly, and that my customers like the quality of my items. Rest assured, you get what is represented. It may be ‘old school’, but I treat my customers like I would like to be treated myself. Trucking and construction have been my life, and now in retirement I do this with a labor of love and enjoyment.

.... any questions at all, please feel free to contact me. I try to be prompt with my email responses.
