Installing PHP on Win2K Server

What you Need

Download the latest version of PHP from http://www.php.net/downloads.php. These instructions are based on version 4.0.6.

Use the installer version: PHP 4.0.6 installer [755Kb] - 23 June 2001
(CGI only, MySQL support built-in, packaged as Windows installer to install and configure PHP, and automatically configure IIS, PWS and Xitami, with manual configuration for other servers. Note: no external extensions included).

Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow the steps below to install PHP on your Win2K server.  You may also use these instructions if your web host needs assistance in performing this installation for you.

 Double click the icon.

 

Click Next.

Click I Agree.

 

Select Advanced and click Next.

 

 

Stay with the default file destinations, and click Next.

 

 

Stay with the default setting and click Next.

 

 

Stay with default settings and click Next again.

 

 

Stay with default settings and click Next again.

 

 

Select the appropriate URL to your mail server; it must be allowed to relay for the domain you are setting up. Enter the address you want your emails to appear to come from (the setting in confi.inc.php overrides this setting).

 

Select Display all errors. If you don’t, you will get screens full of warnings! Click Next.

 

This setting usually defaults to the required field, so just check it and click Next.

If you have had no previous support for PHP, select all associated files.

 

Click Next.

 

Don’t do anything here.

Select all for this screen.
