and many other boards have it. It would really help to separate the stupid posts from the top posts that should be archived for eternity

The number of views is not a good idea:
a) the way the count works, posts with more follow ups have more views
b) many people viewing it does not mean they like it. Maybe the subject title is good, and the post is crappy
