Took a gander at why my RSS feeds won't work for my news forum, and it seems that the URL being parsed out has several problems...
A. The link produces spaces; instead they should be +'s.
B. The link doesn't parse out punctuation and special characters (such as [ and ]).
These will cause it to not only not validate, but for the built in php parsing functions (in PHP itself) to not parse the data as it's malformed (at least on "b")...
