UBB.threads PHP Forum Software Community Forums UBB.classic UBB.classic 5 Support Disappearing Subject Titles in Threads

After a recent hardware crash, my BBS has started showing signs of a problem. In a few threads, subject titles are disappearing. If they are not there, I don't see if there is a way to do anything about them. Any ideas?

Have you tried the Misc. Debugging option in your control panel, Rebuild Forum Data? You might give it a try. If that doesn't work, you probably have a corrupt thread file, specific to the one that is blank. If that is the case, you may have to delete it via FTP after identifying the thread number (which could be a pain in the butt to find). After that IIRC you'll have to run the Rebuild Forum Data option again.

That didn't work.

How am I supposed to be able to locate the subject threads to delete them if there is no way to identify them?

One of the threads in question appears to be http://www.section31.com/bbs/Forum9/HTML/000070.html

This looks like an inverse of the 'usual' thread corruption problem. Rather than the header line being removed, a blank line has been prefixed to the header.

How many of these threads are there, in total?

In total, there was around 10. After posting my second message in this thread, I did manage to locate a bunch of them and delete them. I guess it's not that big a deal as long as it doesn't pop up with newer posts. I plan to upgrade soon as well.

If it happens again, please try and close the thread, then post back here with the URL to it... I'd like to examine one of the corrutped thread files.

Hmmmmmmm.

While I'm not totally convinced that this is a bug, we have an example here on SK, and moving it to the Bugs forum will surely get it noticed.
