I am using free version 2000d

I get this error:

You are getting this error because:
There is no index.html file or You do not have the proper access permissions

I used ws_ftp to upload, did it manually in ascii.. netfirms tells you to set the permissions to 700 for everything, however I tried that no luck, so then tried 755, 777 permissions and still no joy.. they are currently set to the 755, 777 ones..

Hint: apparently you are still using the default admin login & password - get rid of them ASAP - someone can steal the board admin function from you.

I just checked your UBB Control Panel plus the board, and I encountered an error when I tried to refresh your UBB configuration (see the first paragraph!) - I got error message

Did you create the Forum1 ... Forum10 directories as instructed on the installation instructions? Either you missed it, or as the message says, your UBB NonCGI path isn't correct which doesn't seem the case, as the board graphics are working - they're located on the UBB NonCGI directory.

To also suggest that you hadn't created the forum directories (or their permissions are not set correctly) I was greeted with the following, when I tried to enter any of the boards:

huh? no.. I only got to step 8 where you open the control page for the first time and click on general settings.. I couldnt get any further than that.. I get the error no matter what settings I try to change in the CP..

arachnia, you need to read Netfirms cgi FAQ, they do not allow 755 and 777 permissions related to the cgi-bin. Per Netfirm's FAQ the cgi-bin needs to be 701 and all the files in the cgi-bin should be set to 700.

Please try the above instead of the 755 and 777 permission settings given in the Infopop instructions.

This ONLY applies to the cgi-bin, you still need to set the nonCGI directory to 777.

I dont mean to sound rude, but did you read my post? I did state in my original post that I tried BOTH. I tried setting permissions to 700 before I tried 755 and 777 and it still didnt work, I still get the same error.

Did you set the cgi directory to 701 as Doug suggested?
