The ONLY way to identify what this problem might be is to access the error logs. If UBB doesn't provide any errors when using any of the email functions then more than likely UBB is passing the email along just fine but sendmail is bombing which is a host issue. Hopefully sendmail is logging its activity and you may be able to determine from the logs what's going on.

You may also want to try some other cgi applications with your host's sendmail and see if they work or not. If they don't either then its definitely an issue with your host's sendmail.

Is there any sendmail tests? or may be a simple cgi application uses sendmail? Would you suggest something?

We have advised you to contact your host. Contacting your host will allow THEM to tell you information about their setup which may or may not be causing your problems. It is very difficult for us to provide troubleshooting information for a system we do not know about.

Hi avtotalk,

Have you resolved the problem? I seem to be experiencing the same sendmail problem. I did not have problem with using my sendmail program on an older version of UBB. But since upgrading to 5.47e, I get Internal Server Error 505 whenever I use a function that requires email - e.g. registration, UBB friend, lost password etc.

- Socket is available.
- Sendmail path is correct (was using this anyway)

Anything else?

Thanks,
Austin

no, didn't resolve it <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> Really, I don't receive internal server error. Everything seems to be working, but no any mail received.

Yes, but as we explained above, your host is causing the errors and nothing can be done. <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

I would advise finding a new host if they remain unresponsive to your needs.

The problem was resolved by moving site to another host <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> . Thanks everyone.
