I have some users who don't have a 'Hide from Recent Visitors' option in their profiles.

I could not figure out how to fix this. There is nothing about this feature in the Recent Visitors settings under Misc in Control Panel.

Is this a bug?

Hmmm, that is a strange one. Have you gone into those Profiles yourself and verified that this is indeed the case? It's possible that the members in question are on the right page but just not seeing the option OR perhaps they are not drilling down to the View/Update Profile page, where "Hide from Recent Visitors feature?" is the very last toggle on the page.

Hope that doesn't come across as insulting. Sometimes there are so many things to look at and some don't jump right out.

Craig: I logged in with their username myself to check it out. I was quite stumped when I saw it (or didn't see it).

I haven't done extensive research on this, but the main user in question here is COPPA. Even though I have no COPPA restrictions in place, could that be a possible place where the bug lies?

Capps: I have modified CGI on my board, so I assume I can't open a support ticket.

But I didn't modify anything. Latest version 6.2.1.1. For me it's not a problem, but it should be a bug. I also checked it by logging with the username and password. Some of them have, some of them no.

COPPA users don't get the option. (I assume by design).

So why is this not a feature for COPPAs? How do I turn it off? Is there a reason why COPPAs can't hide from recent visitors?

It isn't that they can't hide - it is that they can't NOT hide.

Privacy issues I suppose..
