I upgraded to the new version last night and all seemed well. When I log on this morning members files in the cgi members directory are empty.
I can't access the control panel, members can't register.

I get this when I tried to register:

"
Can not overwrite an existing profile number. Please notify the administration that their
last_number.cgi file may be
corrupt. Permissions on the Members directory must be reset, and the Member Stat
files must be rebuilt afterwards.
(00000001)"

I tried reinstalling an older last_number.cgi and nothing works.

Please help, I don't need this happening right now!∑

regards,

bigtree

Have you tried resetting permissions on the Members directory, and rebuilding the Member Stat files?

I find that if I run into a problem, and I get an error message, and I follow what the UBB tells me to do, it works.

Personally...following the directions contained in the "upgrade.txt" file with the 6.1 (et.al.) upgrades to the UBB, I had no problems what-so-ever upgrading...I had UBB 6.0...did NOT use any of the Beta releases, and went from 6.0 to 6.1, and then to 6.1.0.2. almost immediately with no problems...follow the directions to the letter and you shouldn't have any problems.

Make sure you followed those upgrade instructions!

Rebuilding member stat files is one of the upgrade procedures, and it MUST be done after upgrading, otherwise resulting in the error you're receiving...

lol @ CC you should probably underline "rebuild member status files after upgrading!!!!!!!!" and make it in bold. it would probably catch people's attention.

btw, this is totally irrelevant, but the cookies don't work on this board here. (this support board) I have to login everyday.

Just to double check..

On OT, there's a checkbox on the login page which allows you to have the credentials cached permanently or only for the session. Make sure you check that.
