Hello Charles,

I am using Outlook 2000. The UBB-mails were displayed correct in Version 6.1

Just checked it with Outlook-Express. Here the line-breaks appear correctly. The same mail in Outlook has no breaks.

I've had this from time to time in my Outlook 2000 as well - it seems to depend on what the server is using to send mail.

I was never able to track down the cause.

Is anyone else seeing this?

Hm, could it be something with the kind of line breaks?

When I opened the vars_wordlets_email.cgi with Homesite to do some translatons Homesite displayed, that the file uses unix-style double-line breaks. I choosed to display them the normal way. Did that change something?

Ack!

Don't do that, you don't need to anymore.

The email Wordlet list can now be translated via the control panel. <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Ah, does nice new features the users don't know about <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

I just opened the wordlets with the control panel and saved them there.

Nothing changed <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

I even uploded the original vars-file and changed it again. Still the same <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

And again: this did not accure with the "old" 6.1 version (nothing was changed on the server).

Something else I found out which might help to find the problem:

When I write a private message to someone and use line breaks inside that message, those line breaks are displayed inside the notify-mail (variable %%MESSAGE_ASCII%%).

But the line breaks inside the wordlet "pm_notify" are not shown when you view the mail with Outlook.

Did my last information help you to locate the problem?

I now have my first members complaining about that misformatted mails in Outlook?

I'm still looking into this.

I can't replicate the problem on my development machine, but I can on a few servers.

Unfortunately, Outlook's inability to view the real message source is really making this job difficult.
