Ok I am randomly getting a white screen when I go to post, close, move or any of those kinds of things. Viewing a forum works, viewing a thread works, just not the rest.

It just happened and it lasted for a minute or two. I went to a different forum and it work. I came abck and the priginal worked then.

Does your host stop the execution of scripts after a set amount of time by any chance? Have you checked your server errror logs?

I can ask, but I doubt it. I mean it only happens randomly and it hapens instantly. It it not like things are loading for a long time.

just checked my logs and the only errors I saw where people using links to the old message board and being told it did not exist (since the 6 series uses different files then the 5 series)

ok my error logs where ok and I asked my web host if they stop scripts after a certain amount of time. here was there response

Hello,

No we do not stop the execution of scripts after a cetain amount of time. The problem is due to the fact that the kernel needs to be recompiled. We will be working on that in the comming week. Thank you for your patience.
So I guess this is not a bug anda problem withmy server. Do now know what the kernel is or does, but apparantly it is screwing up.

FTR, the kernel is the software at the very base of the UNIX operating system. If your kernel has trouble, the whole system is going to be unstable. <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

(You'll note I didn't give a technical definition, simply because I'd probably get it wrong. <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> )

wellit is just the ubb that has a problem, but it was happening in the 5 series I had right before I updated, so I assume it is the web host.

But thanx for the explanation <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
