I tried to reply to the following post but it's closed:

I just wanted to say that I too have been burned by this. Domains were being banned that weren't on my ban list. If I ban starmail.com then starsys.com is also banned even though it's not on the list. Placing @ before each domain fixed this even though the current documentation says nothing about using the @ symbol. In fact the specific example given does NOT use the @ symbol. The documentation should be clarified and/or the scheme for comparing the registered email with the ban list should be corrected to compare the entire domain, not just pieces of it.

The description of the ban field in 6.6.0 has been updated to reflect reality.
