This has been officially classified as a bug bu infopop. We approve new members and give them viewing, not posting, permission for a while. Now, with the an upgrade to "Version: 6.5.0", mwembers approved with viewing only permission can't log in. Only members who are approved and allowed to post can.
For new members, on the old version, we approved them, the checked:
- Disable Ability to Post Notes
But they could log in and veiw. Now they can't log in, let alone view.
We give some members viewing and some posting permission. Now all those members who could view (read) but not post can't log in. We want them to log in and view and we'd like the ability to grant full access at some point, just like the old UBB!
On the Basic Registration page in control panel, where I check 'approval required' it says:
Moderate Registration Requests?
The default setting allows any user to register without approval. If you require registration approval, the user may register but will not have posting privileges until you grant them though the control panel section USER INFO & PERMISSIONS.
I do not see a USER INFO & PERMISSIONS panel anywhere in the control panel.

Well, it appears you have found a bug... One that has gone un-noticed for quite some time, probably because most people don't utilize the 'turn off posting rights' in the same way you do!
Our Classic developer is currently out with a back injury and cannot access a computer at all, so I can't give you a timeframe on when this might be released as a fix, and I do apologize for that! ... I spoke with some people around here about your options. Since our Classic programmer is unfortunately incapacitated at this time, we won't be able to have a fix out for this anytime soon (i.e. the next couple week or so).
One solution would be to head over to
https://www.ubbdev.com and see if anyone there could write a code modification for you. The people who do that there are EXTREMELY talented and very familiar with the code and could probably whip a make-shift solution for you in no time.
Many of the people who work there are moderators on our support community and we recommend them highly.

Since I'm already a member here and logged in, I thought I'd ask here first... Anyone have a fix for this problem?
Cheers
