Version 5.0b1 has just been released into the registered users area. Note that this is a beta release. If you plan on testing this release you are advised to dump and backup your current database and installation if you are going to be upgrading from an older version.
This is a major upgrade and heavy table alteration is needed to upgrade to version 5.0 from the 4.x series. Depending on the number of users and messages in your forums the altertable may take awhile to complete. Also, on forums with a large userbase and a large number of posts this can be a resource intensive task as well.
There will probably be several beta releases before the stable release is out, so those of you with very active forums may want to wait until the stable version is complete.
The features page will be updated shorly with a list of all new features found in 5.0.
