After much discussion, the template experiment will be put on hold. The reason is simply time. This experiment has caused a large delay in getting new features added and to continue it at this point would cause an even larger delay because it would require quite abit of rewriting of the base code just to keep it resource friendly.
So, as of this moment we will be concentrating on a slight interface tweak for a visual improvement to the front end. Then adding in a bunch of the very popular hacks and then adding more features, like showing all new posts, in post polls, expand/collapse categories, etc.
Will probably use a basic template system for now on a smaller scale for easier editing of the style sheets and things of that nature that won't require CGI::FastTemplate.
The templates may be picked up again at some point, but will be on the back burner until we get alot of other user requested features done.
So after a long time of no updates, there should be a couple coming in the near future.
