Could it please have a line in the header of the message linking back to the message and sender it is in reply to?

Please make this an option you can enable and disable, like displaying IPs. =)

I will make it into an option. But only on the flat display. There is no need to have it in threaded mode, since they can see the thread structure right below the post.

The only thing that worries me, is eventually the options list is going to be HUGE. I'm not sure if this is good or bad. It's good in that in means the program is very configurable, but it's bad because it might overwhelm some.

Yes, it's the flat mode that needs it. I wouldn't worry about "too many" options - it's not having enough that puts people off. You can always set a default for each one - so that, if they want, they can ignore all the choices and just install it as it comes.

I don't think there should be any fears of too many options. As Eileen said, you put the most important/major ones at the top and have defaults for all the others. If people don't wanna toy with it, they don't have to and everything still looks great.
