I posted this about a year ago and I will again.. It would be nice to have a way that users could look to see who is online and invite them to chat. Also it would be nice to set up scheduled chat time so you could post that a certain area say this wishlist area that this post is in was going to have a scheduled chat on thursday night at 8:00 pm. I could make a post and schedule the event and a chat room would be created called wishlist and all interested parties could then log into this area and chat as there would be a room for it. Chat is community building and strengthens a website... this is what makes Yahoo....

This would be a major upgrade so it would probably be version 6

You can't create a link to a chat room yourself? I have a chat room on my site, and my users go into chat all the time. Chat is a different critter from a message board, your webhost has more to do with your ability to offer chat than anything the WWWThreads folks can do.

Set up a chat room if your webhost will allow it and make a link. Heck - make a link on the toolbar if you want. But you can do that yourself within the post, it's up to your webhost to allow or disallow chat on your site.

My site has this as well. Users can access the chat through a perl interface on the site or through mIRC.
