I stated before that I supported the idea of excluding hacks from main versions so attention could be focused on newer features (although some hacks are being implemented, as far as I can tell), but some of the more complex hacks really belong in the main versions I think. Excluding a hack that can easily be added is one thing, but when the hack is 4+ pages long and runs over some other hacks than it becomes a bit tedious to implement (sort of like the chaotic way intermediate to advanced Linux users upgrade their modules instead of the entire system - this is more flexible and powerful for some, but creates its own problems by breaking other programs).
There's just so many great hacks created by you guys out there, it seems a shame that it should only be available to the more advanced and adventuring users. If I didn't have the means to have a second "hack" board to test the hacks out on, I wouldn't have access to all of these great features - Eileen's got a great collection, you should check out her board!
Maybe we can vote on X number of hacks to be included in the next versions? Maybe something like this is already underway, I don't know. I thought I'd offer it up for suggestions at least.
